Brazil as a military player in Africa?? is it a joke?

Brazil's rise in world arena has no connection to its military power. Wikileaks sometimes reveals some funny information about international relations. Hard to believe that Pentagon officials really think of Brazil as some military threat, even though brazilian imperialism is a reallity and it may be a threat to US interest in the region. Yet, brazilian imperialism may not be played with arms but only with politcs, money and other soft power. US should not understimate Brazil's soft power, but regarding the army: is it a joke? and how much experienced is Brazil on counter-terrorism task forces? How its army could have a military role in Africa when it never faced terrorist threats? The threats to brazilian security are very different from those faced by US. Brazilian army must first renew its military equipments but for another task: control its own territory, especially amazon, this is the real threat - turn into a failed state not a rogue state.
